I'm currently working on a Ph.D. thesis, trying to develop a methodology for unique still images, mainly traditional history paitings.
I'm mainly interested in the visual narrative and in how to apply concepts developped for narrative analysis of literature on the one, the moving image and comics on the other hand, to the still, unique pictorial image.
I'm also an art-critic for the magazine art 21 in France and I maintain "Dirty Theory", a personal, non-academic, blog where I write about narratives and other things (http://breakingtheory.wordpress.com/).
