Narratological interest

Narrative analysis of dance and ballet performances. I created a method of analysis for the Romantic ballet libretto which considers the divergent nature of the dance narrative to the literary one. The method draws on literary modes of exploration and complements these with findings from psychology and research on theatre and music/opera. This research has been extended to comprise elements of librettology that allows a theorising of the process on top of identification and interpretation of the narrative strategies dance performances display. Conference presentations have been held for European Association of Dance Historians, Society for Dance Research and Society of Dance History Scholars (US). Articles and papers have been published.
