Narratological interest

My narratological research has included the study of literary character and
cognitive approaches to narrative, mainly with a view to reception processes;
current projects include an edited volume on "Blending and the Study of
Narrative", and work on the narrativization of the experience of migration. My narratological work has focused on literary characters (most recent publication: Characters in Fictional Worlds: Understanding Imaginary Beings in Literature, Film, and Other Media, Berlin/NY, 2011, co-edited with Jens Eder and Fotis Yannidis) and on reception-oriented cognitive approaches; a volume on Blending and the Study of Narrative (co-edited with Marcus Hartner) is in preparation; further interests include the narrativization of the experience of migration and the relationship between authenticity, the media and the literary rendering of war experience.
