Narratological interest

As a Graduate student in French literature, I have recently been reflecting on the how and the why of the narrative’s encoding and storage at reading, as well as the what of the retrieved (allegedly re-constructed) text, and the extent to which existing (social) representations might interfere with the reader's working / long-term memory of the text; specifically relevant here is my desire to evaluate what (types of) textual elements are most easily memorized / remembered / forgotten, and why, most notably in the case of transgressive fiction.
