My doctoral research work focuses on explicating how cognitive narratological concepts such as metarepresentation, blending, perspective/focalization, and embedded narratives operate within Colson Whitehead?s literary works and help in analysing and interpreting them. With my research interests in narratology, stylistics and cognitive approaches to literature, I would like to further explore how narratological studies of texts can address and complement certain literary and cultural theories and commentaries.
