Conference on „Current Narratological Problems in the Context of Czech and German Humanities“

The conference was held at the invitation of the Institute of Czech Literature in the Czech Academy of Science in the context of the 20th anniversary of the Hamburg-Prague Partnership. It was organized by Dr. Ondřej Sládek of the Institute of Czech Literature. Participants came both from this institute in Prague and the ICN in Hamburg.

The members of the seminar “Narratologies contemporaines” at the Centre de recherches sur les arts et le langage (CRAL CNRS/EHESS) in Paris organized a conference on September 24, 2010, in collaboration with three leading scholars working in the field of unnatural narratology.

On June 8th and 9th, 2010, junior researchers from the Groupe de Recherches en Ethnopoétique (Université Paris-Diderot/CERILAC) organized a two-day workshop devoted to the cultural and practical aspects of narrativity on a broad chronological and geographical scale.

The objective of this conference was to promote a dialogue among scholars of narrative and provide an overview of the current state of narratology, a variety of narratological methods and analytic approaches,  overlappings with other fields and borrowings from various disciplines (cognitive science, rhetorics, sociolinguistics, semiotics, media studies, psychology, philosophy).
